A traditional Polish cake, especially popular during the Christmas and Easter seasons. The poppy seeds produce a unique, nutty flavor that adds interest and a crunchy texture to these delicious cakes. The richer and more sophisticated version with more poppy seeds filling. Top covered with sugar icing and crushed almonds. Raisins and nuts are also added to the cake. Very tasty! Made by Staropolska Bakery in the Polish Neighborhood of Greenpoint in New York. Weight may slightly vary between individual cakes. Priced per 1/2 cake. |
